Chillquarium
Review
Chillquarium is a cozy idle game from Snapbreak Games AB. The core experience revolves around buying fish, watching them grow in real time, and selling them to turn a profit. There is no active combat or complex systems to manage—just a slow, looping collection process designed for relaxation.
The main mechanics are straightforward: you purchase fish, raise them through a feeding frenzy mechanic that speeds up their growth, and then sell them when they reach maturity. The profit you earn allows you to upgrade your tank and buy more expensive species. Random booster packs can also unlock rare fish, which adds a light layer of surprise to the otherwise predictable cycle.
Content comes in the form of a collection of 156 unique fish, each with additional rare and ultra-rare color variants. Progression is measured by how many species you have catalogued and how elaborate your aquarium looks. Customization options let you change the environment, and a real-time day-night cycle gives the tank a gentle, live feel without demanding your attention.
Controls are minimal, mostly point-and-click or tap actions, and the pacing is deliberately slow. You can open the game periodically to feed fish, sell the largest ones, and check for new rare variants, then close it again. The idle nature means there is no pressure to play for long sessions.
This game suits players who enjoy low-stakes collection and decoration mechanics. If you prefer games that run in the background and reward passive checking rather than active skill, and you like the idea of filling a digital aquarium with colorful fish, Chillquarium provides a calm, predictable loop.
