DRAGON BALL LEGENDS is a mobile action RPG that adapts the long-running anime series into a collectible card brawler. Instead of turn-based commands, battles play out in real-time 3D arenas where players control a single fighter, dodge incoming attacks, and activate special moves by playing ability cards drawn from a small hand. The core loop revolves around building a team of three characters, swapping between them during combat, and charging up a shared Rising Rush attack by collecting Dragon Balls that appear on screen. The game presents its fights with high-quality cel-shaded visuals and voice acting from the original Japanese cast, aiming to recreate the feel of the show’s iconic battles.

The main goal is to assemble a roster of over 400 characters from the Dragon Ball Z, GT, and Super eras. Players summon these fighters through a gacha system, then level them up and unlock abilities to improve their stats and special techniques. The game includes a full original story written by Akira Toriyama, featuring a new Saiyan named Shallot who joins Goku and the rest of the cast to save the world. This campaign moves through a series of battles and cutscenes, offering a reason to keep pulling for new characters. Beyond the story, there are live PVP matches: ranked Rating Battles and casual fights against players of similar power level.

Controls are built around simple taps and swipes. A single tap on a card triggers the associated attack or ability, while swiping left or right makes the character vanish and dodge. Timing dodges correctly opens windows for counters and longer combos. The combat system encourages player skill through reaction and stringing cards together, but the randomness of the card draw adds a layer of luck. Pacing feels brisk in short matches, though grinding for materials to upgrade characters can slow progression over time.

The game suits fans of the Dragon Ball franchise who want a mobile experience that leans into fast, action-oriented fights rather than traditional RPG menus. Collectors will find plenty of characters to chase, and the live PVP mode gives competitive players a reason to invest in their teams. Those who dislike gacha mechanics or prefer slower, more strategic combat may find the card-based system and reliance on summoning less appealing.
