Lords Mobile: Kingdom Wars
Review
Lords Mobile: Kingdom Wars is a free-to-play strategy game built around kingdom building, hero collection, and large-scale guild warfare. You take on the role of a lord tasked with uniting fractured kingdoms, recruiting heroes from fantasy races like dwarves, mermaids, dark elves, and steampunk robots. The core experience revolves around expanding your territory, upgrading buildings, researching technologies, training troops, and leveling heroes in an RPG-style campaign. The game requires an internet connection to play and is developed by IGG Singapore.
Your main goals are to build up your own kingdom and lead it to dominance through both PvE and PvP content. The single-player campaign uses a team of five heroes to fight through stages, while the multiplayer side focuses on guild versus guild battles, kingdom versus kingdom conflicts, battle royals, wonder wars, and darknest invasions. The guild expedition mode lets multiple guilds compete for territory without losing troops, encouraging aggressive play. You can also collect and upgrade ancient artifacts in the Artifact Hall to unlock additional power.
Progression is driven by upgrading buildings, researching new technologies, training four troop types, and choosing from six troop formations with a counter system. Heroes gain levels and can be paired with specific troops to improve effectiveness. The game offers weekly and monthly subscriptions that provide speed boosts, auto-completion of certain quests, and resource gathering benefits. These include the Familiar Support, Turf Club, and Mirage Realm subscriptions, as well as weekly dash and familiar bundles.
Controls are typical for a mobile strategy game, with tap-based navigation for building, moving troops, and managing resources. The pacing is measured in the early stages, but speeds up as you join a guild and participate in scheduled events. Battles are animated in 3D graphics, with heroes unleashing skills during clashes. The game encourages frequent logins to collect rewards and manage timers, especially if you subscribe to the Turf Club which auto-completes admin and guild quests.
This game suits players who enjoy long-term empire building and coordinated guild warfare. It appeals to those who like managing multiple progression systems—heroes, troops, buildings, research, and artifacts—alongside real-time competitive events. The subscription model and online-only nature mean it is best for players willing to commit to regular play or pay for convenience. Casual players may find the pace demanding, while dedicated strategy fans will find plenty of depth in formations and guild coordination.
